Senator Dodd takes on telecom immunity with filibuster

Update, 12/17/07, 7:30 pm: Temporary victory

U.S. Senator Chris Dodd temporarily put aside his presidential campaign today to stand up for our rights against some powerful corporate and governmental forces.

If you’re quick, you can watch the filibuster here.

Update II:  Keep your eyes open for this legislation to resurface again in very early 2008. Watch a bit of Dodd’s speech in which he throws down the gauntlet here. Read an interesting day-after story from the MSM here: note what fails to be mentioned at all.
