Ron Paul in the New York Times

An old friend said to me yesterday, “So tell me about this Ron Paul…”

This is a fine, thoughtful and even-handed article from Christopher Caldwell from the New York Times. It does a better job than I could. See what you think.

The antigovernment activists of the right and the antiwar activists of the left have many differences, maybe irreconcilable ones. But they have a lot of common beliefs too, and their numbers — and anger — are of a considerable magnitude. Ron Paul will not be the next president of the United States. But his candidacy gives us a good hint about the country the next president is going to have to knit back together.

    Dear New York Times,

Thank you for running articles about Ron Paul. He is America’s hope. I do not agree with him on the foriegn wars but he has too many other things I agree with him on to reject him as my candidate for President. I do however find it irritating that you make him out to be someone that cannot win. This is one thing I don’t like about the elections with all the polls taken before hand. I would that for 60 days before elections there would be a ban on publishing these polls so that people could really vote for the man and not the ones picked by the media and the party elites!
