AT&T Invents Programming Language for Mass Surveillance

When it comes to formerly secret surveillance technology, it’s not just who you know, it’s who knows someone who knows someone who knows you. The programming language behind this “communities of interest” spyware is called Hancock; techie types might enjoy taking a look through the manual.

Another sample program included in the manual shows how a Hancock program could create historical maps of a person’s travels by recording nightly what cell phone towers a person’s phone had used or pinged throughout a day.
